Incredible Tips to Develop Lucrative Information Products! Part 2

By Steve Beck

In my first article, I shared why you must create information products instead of books sold in a bookstore. Since this is new to many business owners, info products appear to be an extraordinary way to make money online. Today, I want to give you the most amazing tips for creating information products.

Tip 1: Think of what your customer is giving, and what he is getting in return.

Your customer is making a trade, his money for your knowledge. Make it easy by offering your customers something truly special. E-books on making money are always popular, and many customers are willing to pay $47 for an e-book that explains how to make $4700, save $4700, or keep $4700 more of their income away from the tax-man.

They willingly pay $47 to learn how to do something quickly and easily. On the other hand, they are unlikely to pay $47 for your old baby pictures or an article on darning their socks. See the difference? By finding out what they want, you are in a better position to offer them a great trade for their money!

Tip 2: Tell the Customer HOW Your Product Will Help Them.

Will the information in your product:

earn more money

save their money

save people time?

prevent mental, physical, or emotional distress

Tell your customers exactly how your product will help them in ways they can understand, and your sales will soar!

Tip 3: Turn One E-Book into Many Parts

If you have a 150 page ebook, consider breaking it up into three 50 page ebooks. Everyone likes to get more value and it feels more satisfying to get three different ebooks rather than one fat one. It feels like you are getting more for your money.

Tip 4: Add enough bonuses to make the purchase a "no-brainer"!

OK, so you have an information product ready. Now go out and look for a few similar products that you can offer as bonuses. Now your customer is getting a $47 e-book plus $500 in bonuses which he can download and read at his leisure. These bonuses don't cost you anything, and they are easily delivered. Plus, you gather even more email addresses for your growing list - after all, you need their email to send them the bonus material!

Tip 5: Sell to Existing Clients First

Too many online business owners make this mistake - they chase new clients relentlessly, while neglecting their current clients. Over time, those clients trickle away. Don't let that happen to you. Take steps to ensure their continued loyalty, which they have already demonstrated by being your customer in the first place.

Your existing customers are part of your niche. Go ahead, ask them what they want. You'll be surprised at the answers, and they will feel honored that you took the time to ask. Once you know, start to create products that fill their needs, the needs that they identified themselves. In no time, you'll be the expert in your field!
