Nothing can stop internet TV taking over

By Randy vertical

Do you know|Have you heard about internet TV? Most people have. You can see it on many websites around the internet. Very soon you will notice a lot more of the internet on your television set. Both technologies are set to merge and become a single technology any day now. How we watch the tv is set to change. At the moment the big companies providing of cable and satellite tv are resistant to this happening as they dont want to lose that lucrative income.

Broadband connections to the world wide web is the satellite companies most profitable business. Their technology is also more advanced than the phone and mobile companies.

It has even been suggested that the cable companies who supply the broadband are keeping the speed low and prices high because they dont want the added competition from internet tv suppliers.

Most would prefer a choice in paying only for channels they watch, plus they would probably like a bigger variety as well. This is what is on offer from internet TV. Just visit sites like worldtvpc, Hulu and YouTube to watch a massive variety and selection of streaming content. Most content is free and even the on Demand stuff can cost as little as $1 per episode. So by watching television on the internet, you pay only for what you want to watch. Or you dont pay at all especially if you can wait a day or so for the catch up tv to, catch up.

So are the cable companies welcoming this new technology with open arms? Are they hell. They are trying many underhand tactics to keep you on the cable subscription. Tactics include slowing internet TVs advance into the living room by rolling out DOCSIS 3 as slowly as possible and then charging way over the top for its services. Another tactic is to cap the amount of data that can be downloaded, or even whack a massive charge per megabyte downloaded.

This is not having any effect on the takeover by online tv. New websites and companies are starting up all the time bringing fresh new channels and developments to the sector.

The big manufacturers including Panasonic, Samsung and Sony are now including as standard internet connections built in to the hardware. Making connection to all of the web based content a breeze.

Your even between games able to watch movies and tv shows on your games consoles. Microsofts Xbox has Netflix video on demand enabled and Nintendo have Youtube enabled for Wii.

Also Nintendo has a deal with YouTube to allow users access to the huge video collection. And at the same time, manufacturers like Roku, Apple, TiVo plus Vudu all want to be the dominant internet TV set top box.

These new internet technologies will eventually end up as part of a standard television set. And no matter what the cable companies try to do to scuttle their plans. Watching TV using the Internet will be a reality for most of the worlds population sooner rather than later.
