Does Article Marketing Help Get Your Website More Traffic?

By Tony Herman

Would you like to get more traffic to your site and have that traffic be people that are interested in your services and products? You can do it and see results in a short amount of time.

A lot of people have broadband / DSL connections for their computers at home or at the office. This makes the Web very accessible. People will search on the Internet for something specific - that is usually why they go onto the Internet... to find something. When they search for keywords that relate to your business or website, you want to show up high in the search engine results - usually in the top 10 is where you need to be.

Get Search Engine Optimization Done

Having your website rank well is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization). There are some things that your website needs like good page titles, the right amount of keywords / key phrases in your copy, creating good meta tags, search engine friendly URLs and have it all complimented by a pleasing design that's professional and easy to navigate. Your domain names should contain your main keyword and it should also be at least a year or two old. For the purposes of this article, were going to assume that you've done all of that work.

The next thing to do is rank better. This is the main thing and the main thing in doing SEO is to get incoming links. Each website that links to yours is like voting for your website. The more votes you get, the higher you rank.If you have more than your competition, then that moves your website up in the rankings because it shows that your site is an authority on the topic. Links using hypertext (linked text) from sites that also rank well is optimal but a link is a link and they all help.

Get Incoming Links to Your Website

You can get links to your company website several ways. The best is if people naturally link to your website because they like it. When they bookmark your site on social bookmarking sites like Delicious.com, that helps, too. Encourage people to link to your website or even get social bookmarking code added to your company website which helps people easily bookmark it. Also ask people you know and do business with to link to your company website. The best way to do this is to email them and ask for a link exchange where you link to them and they link to you. Just set up a few links pages on your website and there you go. This is time well spent.

One secret to getting links is with article marketing. What you're reading right now is me doing article marketing. You take some time and write a useful article that is original and full of good information. It should answer a question that people may have and be useful to them. That's why you need to take some time doing a little bit of research. That article is then submitted to article repositories and you get to include 2 inbound links back to your website down in the resource box at the end of the article.

The thing about submitting articles is that your articles need to be unique. You can't just paste the same article on multiple websites - that doesn't help you much at all. To do that you might think that re-writing and submitting the article over and over would take a lot of work and you would be right. It would be. Who has time for that? There is a tool that makes it much easier, the Unique Article Wizard.

The great thing about the Unique Article Wizard is that it takes your article and automatically submits it to hundreds of article websites around the Web that will post it for no cost to you. It also makes sure that articles are original and unique. The sites that your article ends up on are sites that Google knows about, so they are good links to get pointing back to your site. Nice.

Writing an article using the Unique Article Wizard does take quite a bit of time. It's true. But in comparison to how much time it would have taken you to rewrite your article, it's really no time at all. If you have writer's block, then don't worry. You can hire people on sites like Elance.com to do the writing for you for a cheap price. When I sit down to do some writing, I try to remember AIDA, which means:

* Attention

* Interest

* Desire

* Action

That is what your articles should do. They should grab people's attention with an interesting headline, then get their interest within the first few lines, then create desire and then present call to action. What also works well are "how to" articles because, again, that's what people are doing on the Web - they're searching for how to do things usually.

You will use the wizard where you tweak different versions of each paragraph. Then the magic happens. Your unique article is automatically submitted to article sites around the Internet. You can set it to submit 60 or so per day to somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 or more article sites - sometimes many more, like 1500-1600 or more. Nice!

Then usually within a week or two, you will start to see more web visitors coming to your website. search engines will also see more sites that link to your website and that gets you higher search engine rankings. One goal may be to write and submit 1 article per week and you would see great results by just doing that. Many people are doing that very thing, so you know it's working. Be sure to take your time doing it and include really good information in your articles. That's important. You will look like an expert in your niche and people will come to your website for more information.
